When Harry met Sally
When Harry met Sally

As a huge movie fanatic, I love romantic comedies. So I have put together my personal top ten romcoms that I think are hilarious and others would enjoy. So here they are...

 10) When Harry met Sally(1989).

This movie is definatly worth watching and is hilarious. It has the daring fake orgasm scene in a restaurant and explores the notion that 'men and women can't be friends'. Overall Good movie.

 9)You've got mail(1998).

As well as casting one of my favourite actors Tom Hanks this movie is about a struggling corner book shop that suffers when a huge department store opens up near by that sells its books at a lesser price. The owner of the shop (Meg Ryan) meets a charming man in her shop one day and it happens to be the owner of the department store that has opened. The story centres on the relationship of these characters that have both met in reality and on an internet chat site in which they have formed a rather tight relationship on. Their characters go through the obstacles and hardships that fantasy and reality face when faced with each other.

Overall brilliantly cast and a decent movie to boot.

 8)The wedding singer(1998).

Adam Sandler(Robbie) and Drew Barrymore(Julia) star in this romcom and definatly do it justice. My favourite scene is when Robbie performes at a wedding and totally freaks out ruining the brides day.

 7)The Wedding Crashers(2005).

Vince Vaughn , Owen Wilson and Isla Fisher make this movie a must see. It's about two wedding crashers who's aim is to get laid but upon crashing one wedding something unpredictable happens and the result is hilarious.

6) Meet the parents.

Ben Siller and Robert DeNero star in this cringe worthy romcom. It centres around the story of Ben Stillers character meeting his soon to be fiances parents for the first time. The only thing is her father is an ex CIA interrogater...

 5) Along came Polly(2004).

I thought this movie was so funny and it had lovely storyline as well. Centred around an overly cautious man who recently returned from his honeymoon on the discovery of his wife cheating on him with the scuba instructor. He bumps into Polly an ex class mate and the story follows them as they begin to fall for each other with some classic comedy moments thrown in.

 4)There's something about Mary(1998).

This is a romcom classic and it has some brilliant comedy scenes...A must see!!

3)The Proposal(2009).

My favourite actress stars in this movie along side one of my favourite actors Ryan Reynolds. With the famous naked scene in it and and fabulous cast this movie  went straight to number 3 of my top ten.

 2)50 First dates(2004).

When I first saw this movie I was in stitches for most part of the movie and my favourite scene was when Drew Barrymores characters runs after Rob Schneider with a base ball bat and beats him up. By far one of the best romcoms ever!!

 1) The 40 Year old virgin(2005).

Honestly the best romcom ever!!! The cute love story and the funny bits inbetween make this movie number one in my list. The scene where Steve Carrel is actually being waxed brings tears of laughter to my eyes.. So if you havn't watched this movie do NOW!!!

What has been your favourite out of my list?

  • When Harry met Sally
  • You've Got Mail
  • The wedding crashers
  • The wedding singer
  • The proposal
  • The 40 year old virgin
  • 50 first dates
  • Along came Polly
  • There's something about Mary

Definitely "Meet the Parents" followed closely by "The 40 Year Old Virgin".

How can you not love Robert De Niro & Ben Stiller... And the sequel was just as funny.

Never thought of Meet the Parents, Wedding Crashers, or 40 Year Old Virgin as romantic comedies, but I suppose they have romantic elements. I thought "Sex Drive" was pretty funny.
